1. Purpose
MedicConsult is a digital platform for teleconsultation, prevention and matching between patients and verified health practitioners (including physicians and other authorised professionals such as physiotherapists, nurses, psychologists or psychiatrists, according to the categories offered). It allows booking a slot, paying and exchanging remotely (messaging). It is not a hospital, an emergency service, a laboratory, or a national professional board.
2. What the platform is not
MedicConsult does not replace emergency services. In a life-threatening emergency, contact local emergency services immediately. Physical tests (blood work, imaging, etc.) and offline procedures are not performed in the app: they take place at local facilities. When a locally authorised practitioner follows you, they may, under their country’s rules and licence, refer for those tests or prescribe as applicable — the platform does not perform those acts and does not promise a worldwide prescription.
3. Roles and responsibilities
The patient uses the platform in full knowledge of its framework (teleconsult / prevention / matching). Each practitioner is responsible for their licence, professional ethics and what they accept to do for a given patient. MedicConsult provides the tool, identity/document verification in the platform sense, product rules, payments and disclaimers — without substituting itself for clinical practice.
4. Ethical principles (Hippocratic tradition)
MedicConsult is built on ethical principles shared across medical cultures and inspired by the Hippocratic tradition. These principles guide both the platform’s design and the expected conduct of practitioners. They do not replace national codes of ethics or licences, but they form a common foundation of trust.
In particular, the parties acknowledge that healthcare practice on or via the platform should respect: • professional conscience and the priority of the person’s well-being; • the dignity of the patient; • professional secrecy and protection of medical data; • informed consent before care within the limits of teleconsultation; • respect for the patient’s culture, religion and traditions, without discrimination; • applicable law in the country of practice of the practitioner and, as relevant, the country of the patient; • honesty about what remote care can and cannot do (no promise of emergency care or universal prescription).
Practitioners joining the platform undertake to exercise with integrity, within their legal scope of practice. Patients undertake to provide accurate information useful for the consultation. MedicConsult undertakes to provide a secure technical channel, not to sell medical data for advertising, and to remain transparent about the product framework. A historical oath text is not copied here as a universal legal contract: the spirit of that tradition is translated into operational commitments above.
5. Local pathway
When advanced care is needed (tests, imaging, prescriptions in the patient’s country), the pathway may involve a locally authorised practitioner (when such pathway is available). That practitioner may then, under their licence and local law, prescribe or refer. The patient may return with results for follow-up. Until a local network is developed in a country, the platform remains centred on teleconsultation and prevention, with orientation to a local pathway as soon as possible. See also Our vision.
6. Accounts
You must provide accurate information. Practitioner accounts are subject to document review by the team. We may suspend an account in case of abuse, fraud or breach of these terms.
7. Payments
Paid consultations are settled via the means offered (including Stripe). Appointment confirmation occurs after successful payment when that mode applies. Platform / practitioner commissions follow the product grid in force. Refunds follow the cancellation policy displayed.
8. Limitation
To the extent permitted by law, MedicConsult is not liable for the medical content of exchanges between patient and practitioner, nor for acts performed off-platform. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for wilful misconduct or breach of mandatory public-order rules.
9. Contact
For questions about these terms: support in the app (Contact support) or the MedicConsult team. Applicable law and venue will be specified with the operator’s legal counsel before broader commercial launch.
